John Perkins to Nathan Moore
20 April 1839
This Indenture made & entered into this 20th day of
April 1839 between John Perkins of the
one part & Nathan Moore of the other
part both of the County of Barren & State of Kentucky
witnesseth that whereas the said John Perkins
for & in the Consideration of the sum of two hundred
& thirty Dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and by these
presence doth grant and Convey to the aforesaid Nathan
Moore a certain tract or parcel of land
containing one hundred acres more or less situated and
being in the county of Barren & State of Kentucky in
the Barrens, it being the land on which the said Moore
is at this time a living and the intention is to convey
one half of a two-hundred acre survey patented to
John Allen bearing date the first day of July
1816 the part hereby intended to be conveyed begins on
four post oaks & two hickories running South thirteen
West about ninety five poles to a post Oak thence with
the original line of Survey one hundred and ninety poles
West to two hickorys and two post oaks, thence North ten
East about ninety five poles to three post oaks, thence
East one hundred & ninety poles to the beginning
which land I will forever warrant and defend to the
aforesaid Moore his heirs & assigns
free from the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal the day and date above written it is
expressly understood that by this deed there is only one
half of the original 200 acre survey before referred to
conveyed.

I Thomas I. Helm Clerk of the County
Court for Said County Certify that this deed from John
Perkins to Nathan Moore was on this day
acknowledged before me by the said Perkins
to be his act and deed. Whereupon the Same & this
Certificate has been recorded in my office Given under my
hand this 5th day of August 1839.
