Will of Derastus W. Harbison [1839-1861]  Book_____ Page 134

I, Derastus W. Harbison, of Glasgow, Ky., being in feeble health, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

It is my will and desire that after the payment of my debts and funeral expenses, my executor herein after named, shall pay from the proceeds of my estate one-half of the expenses of enclosing the family burying ground and erecting monuments over the graves of the deceased members of the family, including my own, after the manner and style set out in the will of my deceased brother Samuel Harbison.  I desire that my estate shall share equally w2ith his in making the improvements on the burying ground directed by my said deceased brother.  It is my will and desire that my interest in the land in Boyle County, Ky shall be sold at such time as my executor and those interested in the same shall think proper, and the proceeds of the sale to be equally divided between my beloved mother, Mary Harbison, my brother Andrew J. Harbison, Pernecia Harbison, wife of my brother George Harbison and her children by my brother George begotten, and Mary Harbison, who is the daughter of my deceased brother Ordean.

It is further my will and desire that the home place be kept as a home for my mother during her life.  I hereby nominate and appoint my friend H. C. Crenshaw executor of this my last will and testament.  Given under my hand and seal this day of June 1861.
